The Web Services Team responsibilities and remit covers:
- Development of a cohesive website within the context of the University's devolved management structure
- Development of a website structure that meets users needs
- Development of the University's strategy for internal and external communications on the web
- Development of key enterprise information systems to achieve the web-enabled campus
- Integration of the web into the University's marketing communications activities both internally and externally
- Integration of the web to support learning, teaching, research and administration
- Integration of key supporting technologies into the web such as e-commerce
- Coordination of commercial web activities such as affiliate programmes and advertising
- Creation of an organisational structure that centralises web services including application development and testing, technology assessment and a support network for web managers in schools and budget centres
- The provision of increased support, training and communication to web managers in schools and budget centres
- Central technology assessment for future adoption
